Mission

The Protest Record is an archive of visual evidence documenting police brutality and the use of force against people exercising their rights to peaceful assembly, free speech, and expression. We collect, verify, and preserve visual evidence to ensure these incidents are not forgotten, denied, or erased. Every record is dated, geolocated, and documented to create a reliable evidentiary archive that can be used by journalists, researchers, lawyers, human rights organizations, and the public to establish the facts and hold perpetrators accountable.

What we do

We take footage from the public and open sources, check it against our verification method, add the context needed for usability (date and place), and keep it available and mirrored so it survives. We document conduct: what was done, where, and when.
